BristolCon Fringe: January 2016 - Will Loram
Monday May 09, 2016
Monday May 09, 2016
Fortunately Will did finally make it to the event. His reading is from a novel in which... well, maybe it is best to let him explain that. But there are pirates, OK? And dragons. And lots of bureaucracy, because there's nothing that the British like more than making fun of bureaucrats.

BristolCon Fringe: January 2016 - Nick Walters
Monday May 09, 2016
Monday May 09, 2016
The January Fringe was something of a comedy special. As Will Loram had been eaten by aliens, or by the Welsh, or by Bristol's traffic, Nick Walters kindly agreed to take the mic first. Nick had arrived hotfoot from a training course on project management, which is perhaps ideal preparation for reading from a novel in which the Earth is menaced by alien bureaucrats. Fortunately a certain Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart will arrive to save the day, though not in the extract that Nick reads.

BristolCon Fringe: December 2015 - Q&A
Wednesday Feb 24, 2016
Wednesday Feb 24, 2016
As is traditional, host Cheryl Morgan and the audience put our two readers to the question. We were keen to know which member of the Cabinet is so demonic as to have inspired Simon's story. Sarah confessed her love for Russian and Finnish classic music. There were suggestions that Christmas might be just around the corner.

BristolCon Fringe: November 2015 - Q&A
Tuesday Jan 19, 2016
Tuesday Jan 19, 2016
Finally for November our two readers were put to the question by Cheryl Morgan. We discussed the differing natures of horror short fiction and epic fantasy. Tom talked about the growing interest in writing fiction, and Lucy told us about a blog post she had been advised not to publish in case it offended some men. We congratulated Jo Hall on winning an award for killing lots of people in her stories.

BristolCon Fringe: November 2015 - Lucy Hounsom
Tuesday Jan 19, 2016
Tuesday Jan 19, 2016
Our second reader for November was Lucy Housom. We were expecting Lucy to read from her novel, Starborn, but instead she treated us to an exclusive preview of the sequel, which is still being written. There are no spiders in this reading, though there is quite a lot of sand.

BristolCon Fringe: November 2015 - Tom Parker
Tuesday Jan 19, 2016
Tuesday Jan 19, 2016
Stephanie Burgis was unable to make the November event due to having been kidnapped by publishers armed with cake. However, Tom Parker bravely offered to step up and take her place. Tom read two stories from his forthcoming horror collection. Please be warned that if you are nervous about spiders you probably do not want to listen to this one.
